Welcome and Roll Call: Luisa Whittaker-Brooks, Chair
In attendance: Rachel Anderson, Lucie Chamberlain, Dawn Davis (PTA-president elect), Jared Denton, Courtney Ferrara, Scott Jameson, William Nettles, Luisa Whittaker-Brooks, Marco Zavaleta
Absent: Lori Olaveson, Jorge Lopez, Adrian Requena, Tricia Ellison
Approve Minutes from SCC Meeting on March 18, 2025
Jared moved to approve the minutes, seconded by William. SCC minutes from 3/18/25 was unanimously approved by SCC members in the room.
School Safety Drill Updates: Scott Jameson
Carbon monoxide drill with an evacuation 3/28 was successful with no errors identified.
Next on the schedule, 4/17 earthquake drill “Great Utah Shake Out” with an evacuation planned.
Review School Safety Report action items – Scott Jameson, Principal
Safety concerns with drop-off/pick-up, road rage issues, crosswalk awareness
Tall flags next to crosswalks needed
Designate parking stalls for visitor parking
Increased presence of police officers to cite violations
Increased communication on parking/loading zone expectations
Ask about getting flashing light indicators for speed limits on Larkspur & Crocus streets
Share final draft of the 2025-26 TSSP and Land Trust Plan – Scott Jameson, Principal
Submitted – only change was to use leftover money to provide professional development opportunities for teachers
Discuss Publicizing our Years’ Work and Success to Community and Legislators.
Announce when fall elections will be held.
Staffing Update – Principal Scott Jameson
4th grade neighborhood will be combined – only one neighborhood class for next year (Mrs. Otteson)
Jasmine Pogo moving to 3rd grade
Danielle Orr moving to Texas
Assistant Principal Wesley Morgan starting next year
Eder supporting with math interventions
Manuel is moving from recess to support behavior
Emily will support at recess
Sarah Hinks resigning from Playworks
Ashley is moving from recess to Playworks
Kim & Ashley in charge of junior coaches
Cheryl Green resigning as reading interventionist
Reading interventionist position available
Recess aide/copy room position available
Discuss SCC Open Seats for 2025-26 Year, Possibly Elect Leadership
2 open seats for parents
2 open seats for teachers
