PTA ROADRUNNER RUSH Fundraiser

Posted in News & Announcements

PTA ROADRUNNER RUSH

Parents! This year’s main fundraiser is the ROADRUNNER RUSH! It’s a two-week program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on March 18th. Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps), and we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run on March 27th. With our big goal of raising $15,000 for field trips, Family Dance Night, Meet the Masters, Battle of the Books, Chess Club, Book Fair, and all the other programs we hope to continue to offer our students next year, we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it easier, more profitable, and more fun.

Students will also experience an amazing character theme, MINDSPARK MYSTERY LAB! Boosterthon’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to solve mysteries, our students will learn five 21st-century character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.

Donations will go toward continuing the student-enriching and teacher-supportive programs for next year and to the entire two-week experience. So please help our school by reaching out to sponsors. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run!Thank you for your support!

School Make-up Day-- Friday, February 15th

Posted in News & Announcements

The Canyons School Board reported that there WILL BE school on Friday, 2/15 to make up for the snow day we had this week. Please plan accordingly. It will be a short day schedule, same schedule as every Friday (8:15 AM - 1:15 PM).Make up Snow day
From Canyons District Facebook Page:
To make up for the instructional time lost due to Wednesday’s snow day, a make-up school day has been scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15. The date was chosen as a more prudent and less disruptive alternative to holding the make-up day on Presidents Day or during Spring Recess, the two options that are stipulated by the District’s Board-approved calendar guidelines. The Canyons Board of Education’s decision was done under a one-time suspension of those stipulations during a meeting of the Board on Thursday scheduled specifically for this purpose. “The Board felt it was important to preserve quality instruction time, and Friday, Feb. 15 was the best option. We also recognize that many employees and families have already booked vacation and travel plans over the federal holiday, which we observe as a District,” says Canyons Board President Nancy Tingey. Friday, Feb. 15 was previously a no-school day for students but is a contract day for school employees, which means they are already scheduled to be at work. All Canyons District schools will now hold school on Feb. 15 according to their normal Friday schedules. Buses will also be operating that day. Click here to access the bell schedules for elementary schools, and here for middle and high schools. Middle schools will still maintain a late-start and elementary schools will have an early-out schedule. Questions? Send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes the get the school ready for each day? I just wanted to let you all know that Bruce was here at 3 AM on February 6th, the snow day, and spent 7 hours plowing snow. He then returned that same evening and worked several more hours. Then he was here at 3:30 AM on February 7th and spent another 3+ hours doing snow removal. In all, he spent over 12 hours removing 14” of snow and putting down ice melt.
