- Welcome/Roll Call
Present: Katie Rowley (Vice-Chair), Scott Jameson (Principal), Luisa Whittaker Brooks, Pam Brooks, John Castro, Dawn Davis, Lori Hatton, Noelle Jones, Jorge López, Katie Rowley, , Rebecca Brown Wright (online)
Not Present: Rachel Anderson, Teylor Soto, Kristy Whiteside
- Approve SCC Minutes from 3/21/23
John Castro made a motion to approve the minutes from 3/21/23. Noelle Jones seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously by those members who were present at the meeting.
Scott Jameson announced that Heather Huish will host the Spanish assistant next year.
- School Safety Updates
Scott Jameson said that at 10:15 am April 20 the school will have the Great American Shake Out: the earthquake drill.
- Review Positive Behavior Plan
Scott Jameson went over the different programs that we do to help students behave and feel a part of the school community. He also went over programs available to support families of our students.
- Request Approval for Use of Cell Tower Funds for School Stickers
Scott Jameson explained that they are requesting $350 from our cell tower funds to pay for a newly designed Roadrunner sticker to promote our school. An idea was discussed to share pictures of the sticker on social media to promote using them.
John Castro made a motion to authorize using $350 of cell tower funds to purchase school stickers. Louisa Whittaker Brooks seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously by those members who were present at the meeting.
- Staffing Update
Scott Jameson announced that our Social Worker and Achievement Coach are both leaving. The SCC gave congratulations to Noelle Jones, the Achievement Coach, who will be the Principal at Silver Mesa Elementary starting next year.
Mr. Jameson also announced that we hired a new third grade teacher. A new fourth grade English DLI teacher is still needed. We also have an allotment for a half-time special education teacher but have not been able to get one yet.
