  1. Approve Minutes from SCC Meeting on November 14, 2023

  1. School Safety Drill Update: Scott Jameson, Principal
    • 1/8 fire drill at 1pm – all went well.
    • Next drill – hazardous materials, completed once a year, in next faculty meeting.

 

  1. Update on Previous Agenda Items: Scott Jameson, Principal
    • Share Final Draft of Alta View Attendance Policy
      • Policy available on the school website
      • Active links within the document
      • Use this document to help guide when to keep students home.
    • Electronic device policy – devices should be turned off and out of sight during the school day (this is a site-based decision)
    • Share Final TSSP/Land Trust Reports from 2022-23
      • GOAL: 70% of our students at or above proficiency benchmark in reading, using the Acadience composite score (K-3) and RI assessment (4-5).
        • FALL – 56% at/above
        • WINTER – 64% at/above
        • SPRING – 66% at/above
        • 60% of our students made sufficient growth from fall to winter (pathways, k-3, state goal: 60%)
        • 66% of our students made sufficient growth from winter to spring (pathways, k-3, state goal: 60%)

 

      • GOAL: 70% of our students at or above proficiency benchmark in math
        • FALL – Computation 52%, composite 55% at/above
        • WINTER – Computation 67%, composite 64% at/above
        • SPRING – Computation 59%, composite 69% at/above

 

      • School climate goal: we will decrease by 20% the number of students who exhibit moderate/high ratings.
        • Externalizing behaviors: fall: 112, winter: 110, spring: 105 students (decreased by 6%)
        • Internalizing behaviors: fall: 128, winter: 137, spring: 104 students (decreased by 19%)

 

    • Card reader by the faculty room – it will be going through the school board meeting in February. The grant needs to be presented. The school will be observed and go through an approval process. The process will hopefully be approved before next school year. TBC.

 

  1. TSSP/Land Trust for 2024-25: Scott Jameson, Principal
    • Plans and timelines to write the TSSP and Land Trust plans for next year.
    • Mid-year data & proposed goals will be presented at the February meeting.

 

  1. Cell Tower Funds: Scott Jameson, Principal

CURRENT BALANCE: $7,100

    • Request to use funds for 1,000 Alta View stickers: $325
      • We give these stickers out to students who win the Principal’s Pride drawings for following the KEYS/school rules.

    • We are getting an extra $1,600 in these funds.
      • KATIE TO PROPOSE: This money should be earmarked as principal discretionary funds.

  1. Update on Second Grade Teachers: Scott Jameson, Principal
    • Tami Malan will be out for an extended period (possibly through the end of the year) due to a personal health issue. Mr. Michael Tymon will be subbing for her while she is out, as long as needed.

 

  1. 1/18 Canyoneering Night:
    • Let’s all get on the same page with bills that are upcoming for education.
    • Parents are invited – please come!
