Three Employees Retire From Alta View

Posted in News & Announcements

On May 5,  the District Board and Administration honored all the valuable employees who retired or will retire during the 2014/15 school year. We celebrated three great ladies - Connie Meadows, who has served as head secretary at Alta View for a number of years;  Nancy Newton, who has most recently been working as a third grade English teacher in the dual immersion program; and Margaret Gant, who has most recently served as a fourth grade English teacher in the dual immersion program.  We'd like to thank these ladies for their hard work and dedication to our school community and wish them the best of luck in their next endeavor!11066079_828588890567472_2768643665720270560_n.jpg

Harry Potter Penny War is Week of April 27

Posted in News & Announcements

Student Council kicked off it's annual Harry Potter themed fundraiser on Friday, April 24 with a sorting video letting all students and teachers know what house they'd been sorted into this year!

The school has been transformed into Hogwarts, and beginning Monday donations will be collected during all lunch hours for the week. Our goal this year is to raise $4500, and all proceeds benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

This year we're also participating in the 50-state-challenge, meaning we're trying to get a donation from each of the 50 states. If you're so inclined, please share the following link to have your friends/family from afar help us reach our goal:

You can also donate to your child's specific house on that same page. All online donations will be counted as positive points towards your child's house! Good luck Alta View, and may the best house win! Let the Penny War begin!

Career Day

Posted in News & Announcements

Our students were so lucky to have the opportunity to particiapte in Career Day this February!  Several parents and community members spent the morning at Alta View to share their careers and experiences with our students.  Each person spent time talking about what kind of education and training they needed for their career, some of the exciting things they get to do at their job each day, and allowed students to ask
tons of great questions! Students were able to listen to a live opera show, talk with local police officers, learn what prosthetics are, and find out what the life of a nurse is like, among many more! We're so grateful to have such a fantastic community! zywqP5kanu3hJdogB2n-aoB8YEekfdxlTwAMuFfcOWw.jpeg9z9EPDRbgDCqgHQT9 f5hlBQU1m1-Gqt64QFz0hv9pU
