Dear Parents and Families

Posted in News & Announcements

Welcome back! We are very excited for the new school year, 2016-17 to get here. We will be sending important information about upcoming events through our messaging system. We will also be sending information about safety issues we need to address, due to our construction.

We plan on sending them out first through email, but then will try other modes of communication, such as voice messages, our Facebook page and our official Website. It is important that everyone gets these messages. Talk to your neighbors and your children’s school friends. If they have not received these messages, it may be because we do not have an email address for them. Encourage them to go onto Skyward and input their email address. We will not share these addresses; we only use them to communicate.

Posted to this webpage is a flyer about our Open House. We hold this so that your children have a chance meet their new teachers before school starts.

We have also included a list of upcoming dates you will want to add to your calendar. More information will be coming soon.

Tuesday, 8/23/16 – 1st GRADE DUAL LANGUAGE IMMERSION (DLI) PARENTS ONLY! Your children are brand new to Dual Language Immersion. We are inviting you to come in at 1:00 pm before the Open House, so that the 1st grade DLI teachers can share with you expectations for the start of school. More information will come.

8/29/16 – First day of Kindergarten. They will have their very own Red Carpet celebration and cheering as they enter. More information will come.

8/30/16 – BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT, 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This is a night for teachers to share with parents. More information will come.

We encourage you to leave your children at home during Back to School Night, so that the teachers can talk candidly about their expectations. This also allows our Spanish teachers to be able to talk in English. They are only allowed to speak Spanish in front of their students. That is part of the agreement we sign, to be involved in this program and to keep our honored recognition by the Spanish Embassy as an exemplary program.

Please mark these dates on your calendars. You will receive more information later. You will also receive information about how to keep your children safe while the construction of our new school is in process.

Keep Tuned!
